"Glitter Girl" Alexis Cohen had dreams of becoming an American Idol. She compared her voice to Janis Joplin and like Joplin she passed away too soon.
Alexis Cohen, 25, was found dead today at 4:00 am in Seaside Heights, NJ. The cause of death is unknown.
Cohen auditioned twice for American Idol and in the video below you can see her first audition for season 7. According to votefortheworst.com she was denied entrance to the Boston auditions in 2009.
She was one of the eccentric contestants who was confident and embraced her individuality. Just yesterday she posted a video of her stand-up comedy rehearsal on her blog.
Earlier this month a family of four died while driving to an American Idol audition. Road rage is the suspected cause of the accident.
