Aloha Hawaii-bound foodies. If you are planning to head over to the islands this year, you may want to consider a September trip. That’s when the state celebrates its Third Annual Food & Wine Festival.

We’re talking dozens of famous chefs and culinary characters from the Hawaiian Islands, U.S mainland, and around the globe gathering on Oahu and Maui for an extraordinary week of food and wine experiences that pair unique cooking styles with the Aloha State’s bounty of local ingredients.

Co-chaired by Hawaii’s James Beard Award-winning chefs Roy Yamaguchi, chef/owner of Roy’s Restaurants, and Alan Wong, chef/owner of Alan Wong’s Restaurants, the festival, which begins Septembe 1, 2013, is Hawaii’s premier culinary event offering travelers a unique opportunity to engage with Hawaii’s food and culture through intimate tastings, lavish outdoor events, and hands-on experiences.

The event, which is held in partnership with Hawaii’s tourism industry, was created in 2011 to give tourists and residents a world-class festival in the Hawaiian Islands featuring top chefs and wine makers from around the globe, while showcasing the bounty of incredible ingredients the islands have to offer. The net proceeds raised support the sustainability, cultural, and educational efforts of several Hawaii nonprofit beneficiaries.
