ForkFly is inviting people in the Spokane area to "Live Local. Spend Less."
The Portland, Oregon-based company recently partnered with The Spokesman-Review, Spokane's newspaper of record, to create a page offering deals from local businesses such as Bluz at the Bend, City Perk, The General Store and Wonders of the World.
Businesses across the border in Idaho, such as the Merry Maids in Post Falls or Top This Frozen Yogurt & Treats are featured on the site as well.
Many people in the Spokane area have probably seen the bus ads and billboards around town, but unless they got curious and checked out the deal platform's URL, they probably don't know much about it. Fortunately, the site contains a lot of helpful information that explains how ForkFly is different from competing websites people may be more familiar with such as Groupon or OurTownZip.
According to the ForkFly website, "First off, we're not all about forks. And certainly not about flies. Though we are creating quite a buzz all over the country with our great consumer deals in a wide range of categories including entertainment, services, dining, shopping and more.
"... If you're on the business side of things, ForkFly is a simple to use consumer application that enables media companies of all types to monetize a co-branded integrated mobile and digital deal platform. With it, you can keep advertising dollars local, and encourage customer loyalty to your brand."
Following the media partners link leads to a wealth of information about how ForkFly can help Spokane businesses.
According to ForkFly, "Here's how we're different:
"We are your relief troops. We help you wage the war against the national invasion of deal platforms that reduce advertising revenues of local media companies like yours.
"We make it easy for your advertising customers. Our merchant-friendly platform provides mobile and social media tools that build brand affinity and encourage repeat business. Merchants have access to real time analytics, including page views, impressions, redemptions and can instantly modify content like offers, events, and photos. All of this gives them the ability to make the most of their marketing efforts, and enables them to measure the results.
"We're in it for the long haul. Our value to partners and merchants goes way deeper than the quick-hit, small-impact daily deals that others offer exclusively. Our primary focus is on providing on-going deals that allow merchants to build repeat business and customer loyalty. We offer merchants up to four active ongoing deals at a time, giving them the ability to reach a broad customer base and increase business during slower parts of their business day.
"We keep it local. By allowing each media partner to co-brand our application in their local cities, they can build brand recognition while also reaching the customers who already know and trust them.
"We offer DMA exclusivity, giving you a competitive edge in your local market. Get ForkFly now before one of your competitors does."
ForkFly has mobile apps for both Apple iPhones and Android-compatible devices, but they are apparently not available yet in the Spokane area. In the meantime, the main site offers some intriguing deals on everything from hotel rooms to vehicle maintenace to furniture.
People who would like to learn more about the site can also follow ForkFly on Facebook and Twitter.
Considering the current economic climate in Spokane, ForkFly came along at just the right time to help people get things they need in the aftermath of the Winter holiday season. Hopefully, ForkFly will be able to help budget-conscious people stretch their paychecks a little farther in the months ahead while supporting local businesses.
