Foreign-made fake ID’s showing up at D.C. bars

Washington, D.C. --- D.C. police reportedly seized more than 20 fake IDs Thursday evening at a popular nightspot frequented by college students in Georgetown.

The IDs -- used mostly by underage college students from Georgetown and George Washington universities to gain access to bars -- were confiscated by police after the students were discovered in the Third Edition nightclub.

One source from the bar says some of the students actually admitted they obtained the phony IDs from a company believed to be operating from China over the Internet.

According to a law enforcement source, investigators are concerned about the elaborate IDs.  Unlike regular fake IDs, these are better quality, including holograms, ultraviolet markings and magnetic strips.  But they are not perfect.

The Website provides specific details on what information persons should submit, and how to take a suitable digital photograph.  It has also reportedly gotten attention from several other agencies, but the Website has yet to be shut down or blocked.

The price varies depending on how many IDs are purchased.  The Website advertises group discounts for three or four persons for $100 each for a pair of IDs.  The Website promises that “10 or more people is VERY good deal.”

Police are working with both universities in regard to these illegal IDs, but decilned to discuss specifics.

How interesting about the Third Edition and unde age drinking.

When Paul Cohn was at the ANC 2 E's Jan 31st hearing, he was advised of underaged people sneaking into the Third Edition.

He expressed total unawareness. In view all of the prior violations, how disingenuous can this street savy guy be?

Better he should change his name to J. Paul Pinnochio!
