Fore Kicks breaks ground on largest indoor-outdoor sports center in New England

On March 2, Fore Kicks announced that the company has broken ground on its newest soccer and sports complex Fore Kicks III, in Taunton, MA. The indoor-outdoor sports megaplex will be the largest of its kind in New England.

Fore Kicks III is scheduled to open in fall 2013.

Fore Kicks founder and president Tom Teager opened the original Fore Kicks in Norfolk, MA, in 2002, and expanded to Fore Kicks II in Marlboro, MA, in 2008. Additional Fore Kicks developments are currently underway for New England.

The New England Revolution occasionally trains at Fore Kicks when the team's fields are not available and individual Revs players frequent the center.

Although the proposed BCL Premier Sports facilities in Bellingham, Bridgewater and Watertown did not go forward, Teager said the downturn in the economy has not hurt his business, which instead has grown every year.

The new Fore Kicks facility will offer over four acres of indoor fields enclosed within a 170,000 square foot clear span building, plus four outdoor lighted synthetic turf fields. Indoor facilities include seven indoor boarded and non-boarded turf fields, four basketball courts/eight volleyball courts, a fitness center, pro shop, concessions, function and conference rooms, players' sports lounge and second floor observation areas. Outdoor facilities include four soccer/lacrosse fields with field lighting and the latest technology in turf.

Youth academies and leagues for soccer, lacrosse, futsal, basketball, volleyball, baseball, field hockey and flag football will be offered.

Fore Kicks III is located at 223 Fremont St. in Taunton, MA, near the Interstate 495 and Route 24 interchange.
