This past weekend, Ford returned as the presenting sponsor of the 2014 Ford Neighborhood Awards that took place in Atlanta for the first time ever. As part of Ford’s collaboration, Ford presented a check for $30,000 to the winner of the Community Leader Award.
Ford Motor Company presented the Community Leader Award to Stan Richards of Bowie, Maryland with a check for $30,000 that will benefit a non-profit organization of their choice. Richards was last year’s recipient of the Community Leader Award. The Community Leader Award honors leaders who Go Further in their communities.
As the automotive-exclusive and presenting sponsor of the Neighborhood Awards, Ford also announced the winner of its Steve Harvey Morning Show “Hype A Ford/Win A Ford” radio promotion as Christopher LaMark. The winner won the keys to any Ford vehicle of their choice up to $30,000. In addition, Ford’s efforts to support breast cancer awareness continued this awards weekend with the kickoff of the first-ever “Pink Friday,” whereby for each of the first 250 test drives, Ford Warriors in Pink donated $20 to the Susan G. Komen local affiliate office to help advance the fight against breast cancer.

The Neighborhood Awards is the brainchild of Steve Harvey and television/radio producer Rushion McDonald. The show honors local businesses, religious and community leaders, churches and high schools for their contributions and excellence within their own neighborhoods.
