In recent months, Ford sales have taken off in the Rocky Mountains. December 2012 saw a 40% increase in sales over the previous year. Ford car sales increased by about 1,400 units while Ford truck sales increased 15% in December and total annual truck sales increased by 3,232 units.
"Sport utility vehicles also boasted a great year in 2012:
o Escape saw its second-highest sales month in December, and its highest sales year since 2008.
o The new Explorer continues to increase in sales, putting its best month and year in the books in December since its debut in 2010.
For the second year in a row, Ford expects to report over 2 million cars sold in 2012 with the Focus, Fiesta, and F-series being the most popular vehicles." - - Ford Media
These numbers somewhat compensate for their rough year in Europe.
Ford looks like they are on a push to continue this growth through the 2013 year with more press events highlighting new and significantly updated models. I look forward to seeing how good the new three-cylinder EcoBoost Ford Fiesta and zippy Ford Focus ST perform here.
