Ford's driving simulator is cooler than Grand Theft Auto

What happens when you combine video gaming, modern entertainment technology, and flight test simulation? One answer is Ford's VIRTTEX (Virtual Test Track Experiment) simulator.

Better than any Wii game, here computer controlled hydraulic cylinders tilt and vibrate a domed platform, simulating driving and road conditions to test driver reactions and develop new car systems and controls.

The driver sits in a car body inside the dome, viewing images of the virtual road environment and reacting to sounds and motion cues.
