Ford posts yet another loss AP Photo/David Zalwbowski
We truly live in a world gone mad. We live in a world where an American auto company loses 1.4 billion dollars in the first quarter and that is good news. In fact compared to its two cross town rivals Ford losing another 1.4 billion dollars is like a turn around all in itself.
What is another 1.4 billion when compared to GM who has accepted more then 30 billion dollars in Governmental baked loans only to have the government fire it’s CEO and deliver them into bankruptcy court when GM cannot make their bond payment later this summer.
It is pretty funny that GM, with 30 billion of our tax payer dollars, couldn’t save 1 billion dollars to make a payment on their bonds. If they cannot make that payment, and there is no feasible way that they will be able, they will be in violation of President Obama’s regulations and bankruptcy will be the final stop for the company known as GM.
It may even be worse for those at Chrysler. Obama may force that company, which has accepted some 17 million dollars in governmental loans, and will likely end up in a bankruptcy court where the Italian automaker Fiat may get the entire company for nothing.
So when we learn that Ford has lost another 1.4 billion of their own money, have not taken a single dollar in governmental assistance, and actually beat their loss projection. Ford was projecting a loss of at least 1.23 dollar per share of it’s stock. Through that company’s diligence they only lost about 60 cents per share.
Maybe the answer for all of this is for the Obama Administration to draft the people running Ford to help turnaround the other two American car companies. Cleary the good people at Ford know something the others don’t.
For everyone looking to buy a new car, may I suggest a Ford, since they refused government assistance (corporate welfare) and are working hard to get their own house in order. That is what true business people should be doing. Not living off the taxpayers and recklessly spending away cash when one knows that have a big bill due on a specific date.
