Mustang lovers have a new way to show their pride starting today. Ford Motor is announcing a new collaboration with several global designers. They have created fifteen limited-edition graphic shirts. The collection is called Mustang Unleashed.
The new collection debuts just as the iconic Mustang celebrates its 50th anniversary. Special celebrations have been held through out the year marking the vehicle's remarkable endurance as a car model.
According to information released today by Ford, five top fashion designers collaborated on the new line of shirts, including Detroit native Anna Sui. In a statement, Sui says "Having grown up in Detroit, I wanted to incorporate my memories of Mustang and celebrate the spirit of pop culture and Americana in my designs. As a designer, I am constantly inspired by everything around me and often include a nod to my roots-referring to nostalgic, romantic and rock influences- just like Ford Mustang."
Other designers working on the Unleashed collection include Paula Cademartori, who is known for her feminine bags. She highlights the car's glamour in her graphics. Rogan Gregory and Scott Mackinlay-Hahn of Rogan are known for their minimalism and high-tech designs. Tomaso Anfossi and Francesco Ferrari of CO/TE bring a contemporary twist to their drawings. Pamela Love's designs incorporate her love of jewelry with the horse as a symbol of freedom.
The collection of 15 limited-edition shirts will be sold exclusively through Gilt.com. Pre-orders begin on August 26th. Each shirt will sell for $39.
