Forbes magazine ranks Jerry Seinfeld as the highest earning comedian

Forbes magazine just released its 2009 “Top 10 Earning Comedians List” and ranks Jerry Seinfeld as the highest earning comedian. The list was compiled by taking the total earnings between June 1, 2009 and June 1, 2009. The top 10 comedians reportedly had combined earning close to $256 million.

Jerry Seinfeld was in the top spot with estimated earnings close to $85 million. Forbes magazine states, “The comedian-turned-TV superstar continues to cash in on the syndication rights for Seinfeld more than a decade after the show ended its run on NBC. He brings in millions more doing stand-up on the road. What's more, he was reportedly paid $10 million to star in a Microsoft ad alongside Bill Gates; the marketing campaign eventually ditched.” Keep an eye out for a new reality television show titled “The marriage Ref”. Seinfeld is going to be the producer for the show and it will air on NBC.

In the number two spot on the list was Chris Rock earning approximately $42 million. This comedian has been busy with movies such as Madagascar, Escape 2 Africa, and his upcoming movie Death at a Funeral. He has a successful television show, Everybody Hates Chris, and a new book contract a well.

Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham was ranked number three on the list with close to #30 million in earnings.
