It’s that time again for Forbes magazine. The publication recently rolled out their list of the top dead celebrities, revealing who made what between October 2012 and 2013.
The list features a sizeable amount of musicians (most of them being Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees), with Michael Jackson topping the list with $160 million, knocking Elizabeth Taylor from number one, and even topping the top living earner which is Madonna (who earned $125 million). Most of the earnings came from the touring Cirque du Soleil shows Immortal and One, in which some of the features include a hologram-like illusion of Jackson performing “Man in the Mirror”.
Elvis Presley came in at number two with $55 million, thanks mostly to his famous home Graceland, as well as his popular images. Bob Marley rounded out the top five with $18 million, which was due to various merchandise including speakers, messenger bags, and even a line of coffee (with names like “mellow mood” and “one drop”). John Lennon came in at number seven with $12 million. Some of the musicians that almost made the cut include George Harrison and Jimi Hendrix, both of whom have made a little under $10 million during 2012 and 2013.
