This year there was a lot of ordeal within the fashion world and Forbes has compiled a list of the most memorable. While other sites and magazines have compiled lists too, Forbes seemed to be the most accurate for the fashion industry.

1
On the top of their list was Marc Jacobs leaving Louis Vuitton after the spring fashion show. It seemed unexpected and almost as if there were some tension at that fateful fashion show that lead to his abrupt departure.

2
For the third time Jil Sanders, the mogul associated with Prada, left after reported tension with Prada CEO Patrizio Bertelli, Miuccia Prada's husband…again! However at 70, this may really be her last resignation.

3
Many were skeptical in early 2013 when Alexander Wang showcased his first collection for Balenciaga because we had all grown accustomed to his specialty of high fashioned t-shirts and sweats but he pleasantly shocked us all with peplum skirts, marble prints and other fashionable separates that quickly hushed all critics to his delight!

4
Dolce & Gabbana’s 20 month jail sentence and billion euro year fine ($1.3 billion) and the working conditions in Bangladesh that resulted in a deadly fire and collapse of a factory building that killed hundreds.

5
After the H&M launched with French designer Isabel Marant, Reed Krakoff, the mogul who made Coach a major label announced that it would not be renewing its label with Coach in order to concentrate on his new label

6
First Lady Michelle Obama continued to show her impeccable sense of style in 2013. Her classy yet modern flair was reflected in choices like Krakoff’s design for the official swearing-in for her husband’s second term, pieces worn by Thom Browne and Michael Kors during the inauguration events, and the beautiful gown by Jason Wu worn during the inauguration ball.

7
The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton chic maternity fashion influenced many expectant mothers with signature A-line crafted dresses and coats.

8
The Metropolitan Museum of New York held the Costume Institute exhibit from Punk: From Chaos to Couture with a justice delivery of Jean Paul Gaultier’s body of work.

As the list revealed, the fashion industry had a pretty busy year but look for 2014 to be no different!
