Undoubtedly one of the year's most anticipated album releases after an exciting run on American Idol, Adam Lambert's "For Your Entertainment" album cover was released earlier this week via his own Twitter.
It's safe to say that may fans expected something entirely different, but Lambert took to his Twitter once again to dispel the negativity and share his thoughts. The cover itself wasn't in the dark, macabre style of recent photoshoots, but instead shows Lambert in space, with no shortage of glitter or stars to support his campy approach to album art. The campy approach was a deliberate one, attempting to pay homage to album covers of the past (think Bowie's 'Aladdin Sane' or Prince's 'Purple Rain').
The album is already selling at a staggering rate. With 33 days in Amazon.com's Top 100, "For Your Entertainment" has been at the number one spot since four days after the pre-order option was made available. Lambert is currently ahead of new releases by Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift, The Beatles, and many others - and won't be released for nearly another month.
The industry has been abuzz with rumors about the album, and rightfully so. Adam Lambert has worked with producers from Rob Cavallo to Linda Perry and RedOne, and writers from Idol's own Kara DioGuardi to Pink. The album's first single, aptly titled "For Your Entertainment" will debut on Ryan Seacrest's radio show on KIIS FM Friday morning, October 30th at 6:55 AM PST, and the album will be released on November 23rd.
