For the love of peanuts: Homemade peanut butter pudding

Peanut butter is considered a healthy food by itself. Instead of spreading it on thick or thin across your favorite bread it’s time to create a homemade creamy peanut butter pudding dessert. One serving will have everyone asking for seconds.

Peanut butter is a wonderful and a wholesome food. It is a good souce of protein that not only makes one feel full but also has essential properties that aid in building and repairing muscles. It contains potassium which counters the affects of a diet with excess sodium. Peanut butter contains more unsaturated fat than saturated fat making it a good source for healthy fats our bodies require. It’s caloric count provides you with a boost of energy as well as containing a rich amount of fiber.

It is funny that such a simple food product can also help aid in weight loss, prevent cravings for junk food, unhealthy snacks and provide a fullness to message your system to stop eating.

Peanut butter also contains powerful antioxidants, vitamin E and magnesium. These properties help build bones, repair muscles, boost your immune system and decrease your risk of heart disease, diabetes as well as other chronic health conditions.

Now that you know how good peanut butter is for you it is time to add a little of this healthy food spread and whisk up a creamy, delicious, smooth and tasty homemade peanut butter pudding for your family.


  • 1 (4 serving size) package of instant vanilla pudding
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1 cup of peanut butter


  1. In a large mixing bowl whisk together the instant vanilla pudding and milk until it starts to thicken.
  2. Then whisk in the peanut butter until all ingredients are completely mixed together.
  3. Spoon your homemade peanut butter pudding into 4 dessert dishes and cover with plastic wrap.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until dessert is ready to be served.
  5. Enjoy!


  • Pudding always tastes extra special with a dollop of whipped cream on top.
  • Garnish with a sprig of mint or some chopped peanuts.
