The wrangle over rising or lower taxes is quite fascinating. Each side is partially right and wrong. A smaller tax rate keeps money in the hands of those receiving the cut, though it depends upon where consumed and invested, for a national benefit. Likewise, a higher tax brings in more funds; however, the wit and wisdom of utilizing this new treasure trove of cash remains the key. Furthermore, as you widen the rhetoric, every politician is using the key words ‘small business.’ The puzzlement seems to be whom do they mean. For example, does it include adults and teenagers that cut the neighbors’ grass doing summer; writers thru examiner.com and other websites; the everyday person collecting recyclable cans and turning them into cash; the folks selling flowers or gift baskets on the corners during special holidays; these being just a few snippets of the smaller levels.
In contrast, let’s look toward a number of major folks. Bill Gates began out of a garage; Jay-Z started with rap; Warren Buffet dabbled with stocks. Their eventual goal might have been big, but each had humble beginnings. The talk of small businesses is perhaps much broader than perceptually realized. Frankly, the theme is about making money, for doing what, living where, and in a lifestyle so desired, of positive and legitimate context; yet, not all aim for being in the public eye or for lavish display of physical possessions. Accordingly, monetary gain, thru employment, entrepreneurship, or both, from the lowest to the highest level, is all beneficial, in the aggregate, for the merchantry of any nation. Deservingly, those cajoling for the preservation of civil liberties have validity, for its importance to lubricating the engine of economic expansion, beyond fractions pursuing less taxes and less red tape.
On this beam, of awareness, consider actual emphasis advanced of one city over another, the consummate thumbs up or down debate. For example, how does one really parse residing in Washington, DC, from Las Vegas, NV, from Charlotte, NC, from New Orleans, LA, and from New York, NY? Specifically, Mardi Gras in New Orleans can far outweigh a DC or NY event; the pleasure of legalized casinos and other vices, in say Las Vegas, NV, may well exceed religious assimilation in bible belt states, or glamour fashion of Hollywood. The moneybag reference, to push a geographic, may not be as salient a pitch, in the package proffered; more of: what makes an individual truly happy. Interestingly, their why reason, for places like DC, TX, NY, VA, Raleigh/Durham, Greensboro, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Philadelphia, Miami, or Atlanta, had little or nothing to do with happiness. It was either of power or prestige with money to very exclusive positions, even tapping association with ministerial careers, along with assurances, entailing women of relationship, for one of these positions, or easiness for another, appearing, and in fact, multiplying in abundance. Hence, a link is appropriate, from a PBS special, ‘Empires: The Medici, Godfathers of the Renaissance:’ ‘Treat people as human beings who have other needs and another life;’ and, ‘you get better work out of people when people are happy.’
Continuing, the group above cultivates a climate of insensitivity, a direct assault upon the bill of rights. As a result, such ardent supporters might well be over-riding the modern version of an upcoming Reginald Lewis or Warren Buffet. Truthfully, prosperity, however defined, is not about stroking the ego of or bowing down to a limited view, nor a limited lifestyle, nor a limited territory. Let me rephrase: the rights of protecting business secrets and strategies are as needed in a free capitalistic society, as protecting individuals. Neither is bigger than the other. Who is willing to agree: we don’t want one company sneaking and peeking onto the premises of another entity, after close of business hours; but agree to turn a blind eye to fellow employees, neighbors, or groups, visiting the residence of any person, as a daily routine, once that person goes to work, i.e. leaves the house on a variety of errands, disseminating findings to an entire community; or, monitors/controls a person’s computer usage, 24 hours a day, likewise doing the same thing. In the end, do we vote for giving the many a chance at economic security, played, won, and/or lost on a fairly leveled field, or the few an assured privilege of power, by not correcting a rigged scheme?
