For the Glory of God

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Cor 10:31)

We are all headed to the day that our life on this planet will end. If you are reading this devotion, most likely you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior – embracing the fact that He died for your sins and mine and that He rose again on the third day. So your eternal future is assured. What will you leave behind as a legacy for your family and friends? What would be an appropriate eulogy that would characterize your life? 1 Cor 10:31 presents the ideal theme for the eulogy of any Christian: “Whatever you do, do it all for the Glory of God.” The Glory of God should be the overarching theme that guides each of us in our daily lives. Regardless of your gifts and talents, you should pursue God’s will for your life and seek to bring Glory to His Holy Name.
