For skiers and snowboarders, the advanced chutes terrain annual event, in Reno

The annual 'Stake your claim' advanced chutes terrain free ride contest, takes place March 16, at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe's 'Jackpot Ski course' and the 'Cutthroat snowboard course', this is a time to show what you have got to be a winner. The contest is open to ages 21 years and older and divided into divisions of Men Ski, Women Ski, Men Snowboard, Women Snowboard. Entry fee is $25, and everyone must have a Lift ticket or Season Pass to compete. Register in advance here.

This event takes place at Mt Rose, which has the closest skiing to Reno, just 25 minutes from the incredible nightlife and nightly accommodations. To make it easier there are shuttles to go back and forth.

The full day event starts at 7:15 a.m. with registration and ends at 4:30 p.m. During this time,

when not competing, there is a party with a band at the Winters Creek Lodge, starting at 12 noon, and awards will be given out between 4 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

This is the second time the Alaskan Brewing Company has hosted this competition, which will challenge the skiing and riding skill of those participating, with the winners those demonstrating the strongest skills.
