Believe it or not, heels or pumps are not the only shoes in a girl’s closet. Even though “we” females love to dress up and wear some of the hottest 6inch or higher heels on our feet, sometimes these heels can take a toll on us. It is always good to have a variety of different stylish shoes in your closet so that you can switch it up when it comes to what you wear on your feet.
Now I must admit that I am a 6-inch heel lover but oxfords have become a new love in my life right now. Singer Janelle Monae, who is known for her white shirt and black slacks, can always be seen wearing a different pair of oxfords and she makes them look so comfortable, which they are.
Many people do not know that oxford shoes come in different styles, colors and some even with a heel to them. The term “oxfords” is usually used to describe men's dress shoes, but even sneakers and women's high heeled pumps are considered oxfords as long as they lace up. Many designers carry oxford shoes for females. Some are two toned, have laces, a platform wedge and some may even have a high heels.
The original female oxfords are the black and white ones that both male and female use to wear back in the day. Most females would wear these oxfords with those big fluffy skirts or dresses in the 50’s. Now oxfords come in many different colors and styles and can be worn with just anything. Take a look below at my favorite picks as well as finding out what to wear and match with them.
1. Jeffery Campbell- These round-toe, lace-up and cut out oxfords will go great with a plain white dress, cargo shorts or even a pair of leather (black) pants, Yes leather pants
2. Sequined lace oxford- these oxfords, which are from Forever 21 is hot because of the sequined added to the shoes which will complete the outfit off along with a pair of nice skinny leg jeans or jean shorts. Stick with jeans when wearing these shoes.
3. Rag & Bone- These pastel pink oxfords are super cute, especially while wearing them with a nice floral print or brown skirt.
4. Cento x Cento- These hot lace-up with an elasticized heel cup are cute because of the tiny mixed studs around the toe. The perfect outfit for these would be a pair of ripped up jeans, a pair of black shorts for a baby doll dress.
