Studies show that when children and parents dine together, there is a reduced risk of obesity. Jada Pinkett Smith agrees with that concept, putting the philosophy into action by making her family dinner hour with husband Will Smith and her children "sacred." This togetherness also reduces the risk of childhood obesity, according to a new study showing a relationship between a mother's bond with her hcild.
Interviewed by Cookie magazine, Jada asserted that she feels at her best when she engages "her mind, body and spirit." Her children, consequently, are given a healthy goal when it comes to their beverages: "I tell them, You have three bottles of water a day, then drink what you want," she says.
Studies also show that when children and adults "drink their calories," there is a higher risk of weight gain. Example: eat a fresh orange, and fill up on fiber. You also slow down your food intake, helping to achieve that satisfied feeling. Gulp down a glass of orange juice, and it's gone in a flash, without the fiber benefits.
