14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Forgiveness is a big deal to God. Jesus taught as much. Here again after the model prayer was given, Jesus teaches more about forgiveness. Others will sin against you. Why? Every person has sinned. The believer’s action is to forgive them. Father God in heaven reciprocates by forgiving the believer. Yes, the believer’s forgiveness is contingent upon forgiving others. This is God teaching justice and fairness. Believers are to become like God with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
The unforgiving believer will not receive forgiveness. God wants to release His forgiveness from sin and debt to all who ask Him. This is depending upon how one extends forgiveness to others. The lesson is that forgiveness facilitates an answer in prayer from the Father. Do not hold on to offenses and establish a grudge. Let God take care of it. He is able to correct better than anyone else.
Challenge: Believer, forgive and be forgiven and let God handle it! He is more than able to correct the wrongs done to you!
