For All I’ve Done is a band that has power punching melodies and deep meaning to their music. According to one of the managers David Coder, “If Tool, Megadeth and Slayer had a baby, it could turn into this band. “ So, if you’re a fan of Pantera, Tool, Megadeth or Slayer you will find this band aesthetically pleasing.
All of the members from For All I’ve Done have been friends for many years. The band originally started out in 2006, when Joe Fox, the vocalist, and Dan Eymert, the guitarist, started to write music together. In the following year, they discovered their drummer Jonas Wahlstrom and played their first show at the California Club without a bassist. At the show, a mutual friend had a phone number for a bassist, so the boys called. The bassist turned out to be Mike McNellis, who happened to be a childhood friend and past band mate of Jonas. On July 5th, 2009, For All I’ve Done was born. They held their first jam session, and have been together ever since.
For All I’ve Done is labeled as an Alternative Heavy Metal band. They have an array of influences all over the Metal genre, from Pantera to Deftones to Morbid Angel. The band works together as a whole to give Sacramento something that they won’t see in any other local Metal band. The vocalist, through his words and actions, draws the crowd in and takes them on a lyrical quest. The bassists and guitarists music intertwines so it is as if they were one person playing both instruments. The drummer throws off vibes that are unique and as David puts it he “gives goose bumps as the music beats through your body.” Words cannot describe how intense the feeling of their music is, but you can give them a listen and see for yourself.
One thing that makes them so intense is the reasoning behind their music. Every day, men and women leave for war and come back a hollow shell. Oftentimes, people do not understand how damaged these folks are when they are integrated back into society with us. Sometimes, the need to scream it out is all they can do to release the tension, and that is what For All I’ve Done is there for. They are the voice for those who cannot be heard.
