Fall is rapidly becoming the time to visit Walt Disney World Resort. With all the holiday offerings, from Halloween parties at the Magic Kingdom to a wealth of Christmas cheer all over the place, as well as the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival running through November, there are already plenty of extra helpings on everyone's plate.
Then Walt Disney World announced food trucks would be visiting Downtown Disney, offering four unique menus featuring Disney favorites from across the country. "Enchanted Fare" includes offerings from three "Magic Kingdom"-style parks, including Glass Noodle Salad from Hong Kong Disneyland and hand-dipped corn dogs from Disneyland in California.
There will also be Food & Wine Festival favorites at the "The World Showcase of Flavors," pan-Asian flavors from "Namaste Cafe," and an array of meatballs at the "Superstar Catering" truck. (Notice how each of them corresponds to one of the four Walt Disney World theme parks?)
Now, in more foodie news, Walt Disney World has announced "Foodtopia," a discounted menu offering at eight Downtown Disney restaurants. Running from October 1-31, 2013, Foodtopia participants will choose from seven $30 prix fixe menus at Bongos Cuban Café, House of Blues, Paradiso 37, Planet Hollywood, Portobello, Splitsville Luxury Lanes and Wolfgang Puck Café.
In addition, there will be a $60 menu at Fulton's Crab House, located in the iconic riverboat docked at Downtown Disney.
Each menu will feature appetizer, entree, and dessert, as well as a non-alcoholic beverage. In addition, diners can add on admission to Cirque du Soleil's "La Nouba" show with a twenty percent discount.
To take advantage of Foodtopia, diners must make reservations and payment at least 48 hours in advance by calling 407-WDW-DINE, beginning on September 28th.
