Recently, after a diagnosis of a rare form of breast cancer, I became astutely aware of what could be done to enhance the efforts of the health care team by helping myself. The most important thing is to take care of myself mentally, as well as physically. A diet rich in dark vegetables and lots of fruits proves essential in the battle against cancer and it's recurrence.

During treatment, patients are encouraged to maintain their current weight so especially designed chemotherapy and radiation treatments work to their advantage. It usually takes six months to a year for treatment and physical recovery. Then it is time to get your mind and body in tune to promote health and comfort.

In the next few weeks, many surprising foods and actions to promote a healthy future for cancer patients will be on this blog.
