Foodies it’s just 10 days until LA’s biggest culinary event begins and now’s the time for all good gourmets to book their tables (best option is OpenTable). The top spots are bound to sell out fast so work those Smartphones or other mobile devices and click it on. Richard and the Diva (moi) have already booked our table at Esterel at the Sofitel Hotel to kick off the event.

This is the regular menu at Esterel we'll be saving a bundle on Jan. 20

It’s dineLARestaurantWeek starting January 20 and lasting 12 delicious days as top chefs around the town strut their stuff with price fixed menus that allow you sample special dishes at lower prices than normal. Think of it as dining like a celebrity on a budget.

We’re talking lunches that start at $15, $20 and $25 for lunch and dinners at $25, $35 and $45 with one mega menu available for $85 at CUT, mar’sel, Melisse, Patina Restaurant,Spago Beverly Hills (see video for look at the remodeled room), and Valentino Restaurant. FYI: when you check out the menus at be careful to check each course because some places have added charges to special items and you don't want sticker shock at the end of a wonderful meal.

The event is sponsored by Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board and American Express and offers anyone who signs up for the dineLA newsletter an automatic chance to win a restaurant gift certificate every week for one year. The 52-week prize is valued at $2,600. To book a reservation for dineLA’s RestaurantWeek visit and choose from over 300 restaurants.
