There are plenty of events in the Hartford area this Sunday. Happily the three main ones are at different times so you can do all three.

The Connecticut Farmland Trust is hosting a Picnic & Tour of Millstone Farm from Noon to 2:00pm. This is a working Connecticut farm, which raises pigs, poultry, and sheep, and grows vegetables. All of their products are sold locally to CSA members, chefs, and at farmers markets. Cost of the event, which includes lunch provided by Village Market along with beverages courtesy of the Farmer's Cow, is $20 for CFT members, $30 for non-members, and children under 10 are free. Manchester's annual Chef's Challenge will be held at Cheney Hall from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Based upon Food Network shows, the event presents chefs with a "mystery ingredient" that they must incorporate into their dishes. Those attending will have a chance to sample all dishes and vote for their favorite restaurants, according to a news release from April DiFalco, president of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. The event is part of the chamber's "Get it Here" program, which encourages consumers to buy local goods and services.

Ticket prices are $15 in advance for adults, $20 at the door, $10 for seniors over age 65 and $2 for children under 12. Tickets may be purchased at the chamber, 20 Hartford Road in Manchester, on weekdays between 8:00am and 4:00pm, or online at http://www.manchesterchefschallenge.com.

For dinner, go to one of the three restaurants in Hartford that have joined to raise funds to restore the Spirit of Victory, Hartford's Spanish-American War memorial in Bushnell Park. On Sunday night, Sorella, Salute, and Vito's on the Park will donate 10% of all proceeds to the Bushnell Park Foundation's fundraising effort.
