Food workers want a raise

Fast food workers throughout the United States and Miami want a big pay raise. They want at least $15 an hour. Fast food work is not easy and many of the people working in fast food restaurants may not have had the opportunities other people have had. Some fast food workers are participating in walkouts to demonstrate their plight.

"I work two fast food jobs and I tell you it is not easy. I think I should be paid a lot more for the work I do," said Miguel Ortiz. He works a fast food counter in Miami.

"There is no way you can live on minimum wage today. We need high salaries. We feed the American people and we should be treated better," said Christina Bedford.

"I don't think the government should be setting pay for anyone. If the fast food workers want more money, they should get trained for a better job," said Maria Gonzalez.
