Food that takes you away

On the edge of the Ohio in Newburgh, Indiana, there lies a little piece of the Mediterranean.  The Cafe Arazu has a quaint feel that takes its customers to another time and place.

The small building has had its share of occupants over the years, but the cafe has been going strong for nearly two years due to its intriguing atmosphere and worldly cuisine.

The Cafe Arazu seems to pride itself on its eclectic feel and the food beautifully accentuates that feeling.

  • The Falafel Platter artistically offers the traditional golden fried chick-pea patties served with tahini sauce, and they have devised their own version featuring black bean patties with their signature chipotle sauce.  Served with pita bread, as well, this is a great beginning to a spectacular meal.
  • The Chicken Shwarma is a favorite at the cafe offering tender pieces of marinated chicken grilled and wrapped nicely with pickle, shoestring potatoes and a garlic aioli sauce.
  • The Portabella Pesto and Goat Cheese Wraps are sure to please the vegetarian by taking portabella mushrooms, goat cheese, roasted red peppers and spinach pesto and wrapping it all in a golden grilled lavosh which is a soft thin flatbread popular in several countries of the northern parts of the Middle East.
  • The Cafe Arazu also has breathtaking desserts that are homemade daily and they are wonderfully decadent to say the least.
  • Fresh pressed coffee for two could round out a romantic lunch or dinner for anyone in the mood!

These are just a few of the tasty dishes on the menu that are worth a try if you want to enjoy cuisine that is new and exciting.

The location of the Cafe was perfect for something to be successful but it took the right people and the right food to make it outstanding and keep customers coming back for more.
