Seminole Heights ‘Bistro’ gets Refined
The Bungalow Bistro of Seminole Heights (5137 N. Florida Ave.) has been sold to Greg and Michelle Baker of Cooks-n-Company (a personal chef service). While currently still being operated under the “Bistro” moniker and menu, Greg stated the couple is planning to launch an entirely new restaurant, The Refinery, and menu by March 2009.
The Refinery is expected to serve a wide selection of small, “bigger than most tapas” plates, made from locally grown ingredients (when possible). It will also serve a hand-selected array of specialty beers and wines.
The Baker’s new venture is located just steps away from the Seminole Heights neighborhood’s famous Cappy’s Pizzeria and Independent Beer Hall.

About Taverna Opa:
Veteran restaurateur, Peter Tsialiamanis, opened the original Taverna Opa in Hollywood, Fla. in 1998. He envisioned the restaurant embodiment of the Greek spirit of Opa and "a gathering place for guests to celebrate the basic elements of life, good food, drink and music, enjoyed with family and friends."
A native of Greece, Tsaliamanis created a very delicious menu; a compilation of his family recipes and traditional Greek dishes served in tavernas in his native Greece.

Went to dine with a couple of friends from out of town on a Friday night and continued to exceed my expectations! Dancing on tables, belly dancer, throwing napkins everywhere and yelling opa every minute! Food was EXCELLENT! Generous portions and reasonably priced! Def will be coming back and back again for a looong time! I only wish there was hookah.....that would have been the cherry on top!
