'Food Network Star:' Sabotages included in the cooking

On Sunday night’s episode of “Food Network Star” the 10 remaining cooks were divided in 2 groups of 5 and presented with the challenge of cooking a dish that would include sabotages, just as “Cutthroat Kitchen” is played also on the Food Network, and afterwards present their plate to the judges; that were chef Bobby Flay and chef Jet Tila.

The first group were Christopher, Chris, Loreal, Nicole, and Aryen, and the dish they had to cook was spaghetti and meatballs, they had 2 minutes to shop in the fully stocked pantry and then have items auctioned off that would cause trouble for that one chef who might receive it; each chef received $2,500 with which to bid.

The second group included Lenny, Emma, Sarah, Reuben, and Kenny, and their dish was a breakfast plate. Kenny somehow managed to avoid any type of sabotage and yet only managed to fix a shot glass with all sorts of different components that just looked terrible and according to the judges was not appetizing.

Those at the top were Christopher and Nicole, and at the bottom were Loreal, Chris, Lenny, and Kenny. Nicole, who doubted herself, did the best job with a well-balanced plate and a presentation that was relaxed, inviting, and given in the time-allotted. Lenny has been at the top, and it was surprising to all that he was at the bottom not because of presentation, but because his food was just awful according to the judges and chef Bobby Flay could not bring himself to swallowing the spoonful he put in his mouth. But at the end of the night, it was Kenny who was sent home, he has not been fully vested in the challenges, he does not seem like a television personality and based on the judges’ opinion his food has not been that spectacular.

“Food Network Star” runs on Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT on the Food Network.
