The biggest names in food and music will unite this summer for the first- ever Food Network in Concert at Ravinia, which benefits Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® campaign to end childhood hunger in America. Today, Food Network Magazine announces the can’t-miss line-up of the most talented culinary and music artists who will be taking over Ravinia on September 20.
An exciting, all-day experience, Food Network in Concert at Ravinia will feature popular Food Network stars, including Sunny Anderson, Anne Burrell, Jose Garces, Alex Guarnaschelli, Jeff Mauro, Marc Murphy, and Geoffrey Zakarian, as well as 50 of the country’s most respected and lauded chefs. Confirmed chefs to date include: famed restaurateur David Burke (David Burke Group) and award-winning New York-based chef Michael Psilakis (Michael Psilakis Group), as well as Chicago-based chefs Andrew Zimmerman (Sepia), Art Smith (Table 52), Barry Sorkin (Smoque), Chris Pandel (The Bristol), Cindy Schuman (Sepia), Dennis Stover (Villains Chicago), Doug Psaltis (Lettuce Entertain You), Elissa Narrow (Perennial Virant), Erick Williams (County Barbeque), Gray McNally (Tortoise Club), Giuseppe Tentori (GT Fish & Oyster), Hsing Chen, Jaime Laurita, Jeff Mahin (Lettuce Entertain You), John Kirchner (GT Fish & Oyster), Lee Ann Whippen (Chicago q), Meg Galus (NoMI Kitchen), Michael Kornick (DMK Restaurants), Mike Sheerin (Cicchetti), Nicole Pederson (Found), Patricio Sandoval (Mercadito), Paul Virant (Perennial Virant), Rick Gresh (David Burke’s Primehouse), Ryan LaRoche (NoMI Kitchen), Ryan McCaskey (Acadia), Tom Van Lente (Two), and Zoë Schor (Ada Street). In addition to Grammy Award-winning artist John Mayer, who will headline the event, attendees can look forward to music from Twin Forks and jazz musician Raul Midón, among others. Twin Forks, led by Chris Carrabba, of hit band Dashboard Confessional, are known for rousing crowds with their electrifying chemistry and anthemic folk-rock. Midón, a singer-songwriter out of New York City combines his distinct voice, strumming, beats and vocal mouth trumpet sounds to create a unique and impressive one-man performance. Additional musical performances will be announced at a later date.
Guests will have the opportunity to experience a variety of unique food offerings throughout the day through an array of ticket packages. The Greatest Hits—a venue-wide walk-around food and wine tasting—will feature samplings of “greatest hits” from 50 chefs and 100+ wineries, while other available culinary experiences will include the BBQ-themed Country Cookout; Farm to Turntable, featuring locally sourced, farm-fresh dishes; Rock ‘N’ Rolls, presenting sandwiches with a creative twist; HOT HOT HOT!, where guests can indulge in the spiciest of dishes from around the world; and I Want Candy, a dessert-themed tasting hosted by Food Network star Anne Burrell and featuring 15 pastry chefs from around the country.
The No Kid Hungry campaign is the exclusive national charity partner for Food Network in Concert at Ravinia. No child should grow up hungry in America, but one in five children in America struggles with hunger. The No Kid Hungry campaign is ending childhood hunger in America by ensuring all kids get the healthy food they need, every day through programs like school breakfast and summer meals and by teaching families how to cook healthy, affordable meals at home.
