“Chopped”, who will be next? If you have not seen this show, it revolves around four contestants who are given a basket containing a few ingredients in which they are to make an appetizer, meal and dessert from. The least appetizing dish from each category is “Chopped” and that contestant chef is sent home. The winner wins $10,000.00!
Do you think you could be a winner on “Chopped”? Take a peak at what a few of the ingredients were last night:
For the appetizer round: edamame, shrimp and raisins
Main course: flank steak and grape juice
Dessert: avocado and honeycomb
The chefs did a good job making dishes from the ingredients they were given.
In case you have not seen last night’s episode, I will not ruin it for you by announcing the winner. All I will say is when it came down to the last two chefs it was a decision I would not have to make!

Poor episode layout if you ask me. The commerical previews for the new show were played before this episoda was finished. So we found out who won in the commericals... Not cool...
What adds insult to injury is that most judges have a scant appreciation for world cuisines. They judge within the apparently limited range that their palates allow them and dont seem to understand dishes that are from Asian, middle eastern, African, latino ( other than Mexican) cultures. Judging by comparing the dish to what you are used to eating without understanding aspects of food that are cultural and would be readily apparent to folks from similar backgrounds as the chefs is insulting to the skills and abilities of the chefs. If you cannot judge non western food dont invite non western chefs and then tear their creations up on tv. I used to like the show but recent bizzare judgements have made me stop watching due to the sheer unfairness of the competition.
I just watched your show for the first time tonight. I was shocked to see one of your contestants with his long hair all in his face. How unprofessional. I work in the food service business and there is no way one of our cooks would have his hair dangling in his face while he was cooking. I can't believe the judges would find that acceptable seeing how they themselves are chefs. I would expect a show and the so called professional judges to set an example for proper grooming to insure the health and sanitation of the food they are preparing. Shame on all of you!!
