When you want to give a little something to someone as a thank you or as a holiday gift without breaking the bank, these Dessert in a Mug ideas are cute and easy to put together.

The mug you choose is part of the gift. You can go with a mug that has a theme to it, such as one for a teacher, or just something simple and more generic. Whatever mug you choose, the bigger the mug the better. Most of these recipes require that the mug is able to hold at least 1 1/2 cups.

After you have chosen your mugs, you can put together the recipes in a zipper or food bag and place inside the mug. Add a nice ribbon and attach the baking instructions on the card. Each recipe and the instructions you attach are good for one mug. A very simple and cute gift that can be used after the original recipe has been made in the mug.

Fudge Brownie Mix

  • 3 TBSP brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2 TBSP chopped walnuts, optional

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Mix well and put in resealable zipper bag and put in mug. Decorate with ribbons and attack gift tag with instructions:

Fudge Brownie

  • 2 1 oz squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 TBSP butter
  • 1 small egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • Fudge Brownie Mix

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium pan over medium heat, melt chocolate squares and butter. Stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat, cool slightly. Add Fudge Brownie Mix, egg, and vanilla to melted chocolate and mix well. Pour into lightly greased mug. Bake 20 minutes. Enjoy!

Apple Crisp Mix

  • 3 TBSP sugar
  • 2 1/2 TBSP flour, divided
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon, divided
  • 4 TBSP old fashioned oats
  • 3 TBSP brown sugar

In a small bowl combine sugar, 1 tablespoon of flour and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix well and place in small resealable zipper bag and put in mug. In a separate zipper bag, place oats, brown sugar, remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons flour, and remaining 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon. Place bag in mug with other bag. Attach ribbon and gift tag with baking instructions. Instructions:

Apple Crisp

  • 1 small apple
  • 3 TBSP butter
  • Apple Crisp Mix

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel, core and chop apple. In a small bowl combine bag with sugar mixture and chopped apples, mixing until coated. Place in lightly greased mug. in a separate bowl add oats mixture. Melt butter and pour over oats, mixing well. Crumble mixture over apple in mug. Bake for 20-25 minutes.

Chocolate Cake Mix

  • 4 TBSP flour
  • 3 TBSP sugar
  • 1 TBSP cocoa powder
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 TBSP mini chocolate chip morsels

In a small bowl combine all ingredients. Place in resealable zipper bag and place in mug. Attach gift tag with baking instructions and ribbon. Instructions:

Chocolate Cake

  • 3 TBSP water
  • 1 small egg2
  • TBSP vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • Chocolate Cake Mix

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In small bowl, combine water, egg, oil, and vanilla mixing well. Add Chocolate Cake Mix, stir until combined. Pour batter into lightly greased mug and bake for 15-20 minutes.
