Food for thought; Stories for Dinner, Indy film fundraises at Kickstarter

Dolph Paulsen has a story to tell.  Well, make that plural.  That's why his project is called Stories For Dinner.  Mr. Paulsen has made a video we have stolen here.  Watch it and I am sure you will be affected by it.  He is doing fundraising at Kickstarter.  Synopsis is below;

Stories for Dinner is about what happens when Danny, a failing Journalism student, engineers an extra credit project where he recruits a group of people who have extraordinary true stories to tell to come to his apartment for dinner.  What ensues involves romance, laughter, heartache, suspense and ultimately elation.

This is the maiden voyage for Boston-based film outfit Rare Mint Productions.  Rare Mint was formed by three local actors wanting more input and control in the narrative filmmaking process.  Focusing on dialogue and interpersonal communication, Rare Mint puts the theme of relationships and the formation of human identity through community participation in the forefront.

Dolph's bio is also there, but here as well;

Dolph Paulsen (Writer/Director/Spencer) holds a BA in Theater from UMass Amherst and a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from Florida State University. He has studied dramatic writing with luminary playwright/professors Len Berkman and Mark Wheatley. He has studied acting with Andrei Malaev Babel (of the Moscow Art Theater) and Patsy Rodenburg (personal coach of Ralph Fiennes, Helen Mirren…) among many others. Film and Television credits include “One Tree Hill” and the festival favorite comedy “When I Was King,” directed by Simeon Rice. Favorite roles include Segismundo (Life is a Dream) and Martin (Feeding the Moonfish). Recently Dolph worked as an actor/writer with Neil Gaiman and Stephin Merritt on “The Grand Guignol Workshop” at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, MA. To say that Dolph is thrilled about the life that this project has taken on would be a vast understatement. His email is dolphpaulsen@gmail.com.

So take a few minutes, watch the video and mosey on over to Kickstarter via the link above.  There are a lot of cast bios and info on the process.

If you love local indie film, you can support a local indie guy who loves home.
