For weeks viewers have been watching two teams vie for the prize of their own food court restaurant, rent-free for one year. Each week a different mall across the country challenges teams to test their restaurant concept and cooking skills by feeding hungry shoppers. Menus are to be specific to the location.
The types of food that winning teams have produced range from Puerto Rican from Tirado's Empanadas and More to pizza from Holy City Pizzeria to comfort food from Casual Joe's. The show has traveled to South Carolina, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota.
Chef Tyler Florence hosts the show and is no newbie to the television scene. With over fourteen years on the Food Network, Florence has also been a guest on many other shows including “The Today Show” and “Good Morning America”. Florence also has two California restaurants to his credit.
Grab a plate and settle in for the “Food Court Wars” season finale tonight at 7 p.m. EST on Food Network.
