Spring is officially the season for tasty cuisine with two enticing events: The Manischewitz All-Star Cook-off as well as Food and Wine's Best New Chef's of 2014.

The Manischewitz All-Star Cook-Off partnered up with Saveur Magazine to host the All-Stars competition at the JCC in Manhattan featuring 5 divine chefs from all over America creating unique, savory recipes with Manischewitz products.

The Grand Prize package included $25,000 for the best recipe selected by a prestigious panel of judges:

-Helen Rosner, Saveur

-Sharon Franke, Good Housekeeping

-Claire Suddath, Bloomberg Business Week

-Rosie Saferstein, New Jersey Monthly

-Jen Goren, JCC in NYC

The Manischewitz All-Star 2014 Cook-off Winner was Jamie Brown-Miller of Napa, CA with her Waffled Latkes with Matzo Fried Chicken and Spicy Syrup.

Runners up: Naylet LaRochelle from Miami, Florida created Halibut Couscous, Ronna Farley of Rockville, MD with her Beef Tenderloin Puffs, Dina Burcat from here in NYC, Latke-Crusted Chicken with Apple Cider and Mushroom and Rosemary Sauce and Joe Carver of Philadelphia, PA's Bubby's Noodle Strudel (inspired by his grandmother and easy to prepare, feeds a large family for days on just a few dollars).

Food and Wine Magazine hosted The People's Best New Chef and named America's 10 most promising chefs of 2014. Editor in chief, Dana Cowin announced the winners at the Natural History Museum earlier this week.

Elbow-to-elbow guests made their rounds to each table to sample these distinctive dishes (often times returning two, three, four times). Tables with most return visitors included: Mario Carbone and Rich Torrisi from ZZ's Clam Bar served Clam Toast and Tuna Toast (2012 F&W BNC) along with Alex Stupak from Empellon with the mouthwatering, Shrimp with Fennel, Apple & Chipolte Mayonnaise (2013 F&W BNC) and Jamie Bissonnette from Toro NYC with Uni Bocadillo (2011 The People's BNC).

Refreshing, nectarous wines from Sonoma County featuring Flowers Chardonnay 2012 as well as many other beverage sponsors: Hendrick's Gin, Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, Leffe Blonde, Leffe Brun, Cidre, Twinings Tea, Acqua Panna and SanPellegrino keep the packed crowd hydrated.

DJ Kiss (@kissthedeejay) also recruited members of her fan club on the dance floor with fun, dance music from Prince, Kesha and many other artists.
