Foo Fighters surprise show in D.C.

Twenty something years ago, a young Dave Grohl frequented Washington, D.C.'s 9:30 Club "hundreds of times," and "saw some shows that changed his life," as Grohl told in a 2010 interview with the Washington Post. Last night Grohl and the Foo Fighters paid tribute to the band Trouble Funk, which along with the famed venue, had a powerful influence on his career.

The degree of the performance by the Foo Fighters was quite a surprise. The band was in attendance for the event, which was a birthday bash for Trouble Funk's Big Tony Fischer, no one imagined they would play a 17 song set, especially one that included the beautiful and rarely played "Aurora," from "There Is Nothing Left To Lose." The Foo Fighters 9:30 Club set list is below.

The Foo Fighters are performing more and more and that's exciting news. Fans should get ready because you never know where they will show up for their next gig, could be your local grocery store. Foo Fighters eighth studio album is so close to being done if not already, and, if we're lucky, by September we will have some news of a tour.
