Many look back on their early teen years will nostalgia, others are just glad they’re over. Tony Award-winning composter Jason Robert Brown’s new musical,13, takes a look at the transitional years between being a kid and becoming an adult.
Directed by Rebecca Meyer-Larson, 13 is now showing at The Fargo-Moorhead Community Theatre, 333 4th St. S. Fargo. The Children’s Studio Theatre production is the regional premiere of the musical.
FMCT’s official webpage describes the production: “In a middle school in Appleton, Indiana thirteen 13 year-olds leap from childhood into a whole new fantastic and frightening era: their teens. Like kids everywhere, they suddenly are trying to survive classes, navigate cliques and be in with the right crowd and 'cool'.”
13 features an all-teen cast and is described on the website as a “smart, magnetic, and upbeat” musical comedy.
Productions run July 29-31 and Aug. 4-7 at 7:30 p.m. An Aug. 5 matinee showing is at 2:00 p.m. For ticket pricing and availability, visit FMCT’s online box office or call 701-235-6778.
