Flyleaf meets Drowning Pool at The Paramount (Photos)

Very different rock bands Drowning Pool & Flyleaf co-headlined at The Paramount with new singers at the mic Wednesday Feb 27. The two wowed their screaming fans with their distinctive sounds and amazing showmanship. “Sinner” meets Christian Rock and their fans loved it.

Drowning Pool introduces Huntington to lead vocalist Jasen Moreno taking the reigns from Ryan McCombs. Moreno has sung with Suicide Hook since 2005 and made his debut with Drowning Pool in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Jasen is Drowning Pool’s third lead singer since the tragic death of Dave Williams in 2002. Jasen’s first album with the band “Resilience” is scheduled for release next month with single “One Finger and a Fist.”

Kristen May, formerly of Vedera replaces Lacey Sturm to take on lead vocals for Flyleaf who has charted for both mainstream and Christian genres but never publicly labeled themselves as a Christian band. Flyleaf last recorded “New Horizons” which was released in October 2012. With Lacey’s nomination as “Hottest Chick in Metal” and several other awards with Flyleaf – Kristen’s got big shoes to fill but from the screams of her fans – she’s off to a great start!

These Texas rockers may both share the same stage but their messages couldn’t have been more different. Mixing the Christian rockers and an album titled “Sinners” has created viral comments on the web, and memories of how Drowning Pool’s single “Bodies” has been used to prepare for war and interrogations at Guantanamo Bay detention camps. While there were two different crowds, there was one amazing rock concert that true rock fans need to see.
