According to TSN, the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Calgary Flames 2-1 on Saturday in the final game for both teams prior to the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

Brayden Schenn and Scott Hartnell each scored for the Flyers. They each scored their 15th goals of the season. The Flames got a late goal from Matt Stajan with 2:26 left in the contest, but it was too little too late.

The Flyers had an outstanding performance from backup goaltender Ray Emery who made 32 saves.

The Flyers took a 1-0 second period lead on the Flames even though they only generated four shots on goal throughout the entire second period on Reto Berra.

Even though Flames' forward Mikael Backlund did not generate a point on the scoresheet, he is clearly playing the best hockey of his career. Backlund, who entered the game with ten points in his last six games, he recorded a career high eight shots of goal on Saturday.
