In the last post on fly shops in the Southern Tier, basics on the fly fishing marketplace were shared. The simpler times of a few fly shops located in “fishy” areas, sporting goods stores that had a little corner devoted to fly fishing, and Sears Roebuck’s catalogs are largely over.
The fly fishing marketplace is vastly different these days, even in the Southern Tier. While our area is not blessed with the fly shop density of Bozeman, Montana, we do have a decent assortment of retailers, from high end fly shops and Mom & Pop bait & tackle stores, to local online retailers and a few more options in between.
