The 2013 Fly Fishing Film Tour will be making a stop in Pittsburgh this year thanks in large part to the folks at International Angler. The event, which has steadily grown in popularity over the past couple of years, is a showcase of short films depicting the majestic places and passions of fly fishermen (and film makers) from around the world. A few of the film titles that will be included in this year’s show are The Magnetic North, Thai One On, and Black Water Devil’s Gold.
These films depict the pursuit of everything from Atlantic Salmon and Brown trout to exotic species such as Thailand’s prized Mahseer (a.k.a. Asia’s Aquatic Tiger). All of the films are filled with breathtaking backdrops, brilliant fly casting, and the ever elusive pursuit of big fish. You can Click Here to view some of the film trailers from this year’s submissions. All proceeds from this event will be used to support Casting for Recovery.
With the event arriving in the Pittsburgh area in early March, a few weeks shy of the Pennsylvania Trout opener, the timing could not be better. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the end of a long, cold winter and to kick-off this year’s fishing season. Spend a couple of hours jump starting your excitement for all things fly fishing with the 2013 F3T at the Oaks Theatre on Sunday March 10.
