Undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. opened up an entirely new round of complaints and criticisms for his comments about NBA point guard Jeremy Lin. Sports fans and other athletes have criticized Floyd for his remarks. However, UFC president Dana White took it a step further by blasting Floyd Jr. on television. According to a Wednesday February 22nd report by ESPN.com, White made the following comments about Floyd Mayweather Jr.:
"First of all, what (Mayweather) said, I think, is racist. He's made a couple of racist comments. And yes, Floyd, you're racist with the stuff that you've said."
White has been no stranger to public spats with Mayweather as the two have exchanged insults and verbal jabs in the past, However, Dana is one of the first in a long line of Floyd detractors to go on national TV and blast Floyd for his Lin remarks.
Mayweather's adviser Leonard Ellerbe fired back at Dana White for his criticism on Floyd. Ellerbe made the following comments according to Yahoo! Sports:
"He needs to shut the (expletive) up and mind his own business, stay in his own lane and keep on taking advantage of the UFC fighters, while underpaying them"
The pay rate for MMA fighters has been a sensitive topic for Dana White as the UFC has come under scrutiny over the last year for what some critics are saying is unfair wages for the risks that the fighters take.
