Undefeated American boxer and Yahoo Sports' pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, Jr (41-0) gave the biggest hint yet that a super-fight with Filipino boxer and Ring Magazine's pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao (51-3-2) will be made in November of this year.
Together with rapper 50 Cent, Mayweather disclosed a rap album compilation project that he is working on together with the New York-based rapper, in a recent interview with MTV News.
50 Cent stated that the hip hop album will be released later this year, around the same timeframe of the biggest fight in boxing history.
With that statement, Mayweather chimed in, affirming that the end of the year bout would indeed be the biggest fight in the history of the sport.
The two suggested that by promoting the album around the same timeframe of the superfight, that the massive publicity from boxing would help increase hype - and sales - of the hip hop compilation.
Neither 50 Cent nor Floyd Mayweather would provide any additional details about the album.
The boxer's comment regarding "the biggest fight in the history of the sport" prompted 50 Cent to joke that the two would make so much money they would have to bring in trucks in order to load piles of cash.
Mayweather recently attended game 1 of the NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics.

Based on Mayweather's comments, we view the following regarding the highly anticipated bout (these are opinions):
1. That both camps intend to make the Mayweather-Pacquiao showdown happen this year.
2. Both camps are waiting for an opportune time to make the fight announcement, perhaps sometime after July and before the end of August. Juan Manuel Marquez (50-5-1) is set to fight Juan Diaz (35-3) on July 31st, and the NFL season kicks off around the end of August. An August announcement would give Pacquiao time to take a break from his congressional duties in the Philippines, and give both camps enough time to make promotional tours around the U.S.
3. Any prior disagreements on principle have been patched up, or close to becoming patched up, such as the issue surrounding blood testing and Pacquiao's lawsuit against Mayweather's camp and Golden Boy Promotions. At the post-fight conference after the Mayweather vs Shane Mosley fight last May 1st, Mayweather stated that he has nothing bad to say about Manny Pacquiao, and that his family never had any bad intentions against the Filipino. This softened stance may indicate that for the sake of making the showdown happen, Mayweather may - just perhaps - issue an apologetic statement in exchange for the dropping of the lawsuits.

but it's seems that the boxing fans had already lost their excitements on the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight... with all those posturing, with all those baseless insinuations and accusations, with all those trash-talking, with all those hip-hops and all those circus... it is much more exciting to see the Boston vs. Lakers championship match... or the US Open Golf Tournament wherein the come-backing Tiger Woods is playing... or the 2010 FIFA World Cup Games... hopefully though the Boxing Fans will regain their appetite on this match-up

The Mayweather family has nothing bad against Pacquiao? Just recently Floyd Sr. questioned Pacquiao's BWAA award & reiterated that Pacquiao is really on peds. Floyd's recent declaration that his family has nothing bad to say about Pacquiao, is only meant to flatter Pacquiao & to soften Pacquiao's stand in pursuing the defamation case he filed against the Mayweathers , De la Hoya & Schaefer. Nice move, Floyd but the damage is already done & a probable cause has already been established.
Just sign the contract Floyd, don't flatter Pacquiao & the boxing fans. In the boxing ring, you might win if luck is on your side but in the trial court you are absolutely on the losing side.
