The woes continue for the Los Angeles Lakers.
With three of their key players, center Dwight Howard and forwards Pau Gasol and Jordan Hill, sitting out due to injuries, it seemed like an uphill battle on Friday night against the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder.
The final result was likely worse than expected.
Led by Kevin Durant’s 42 points on 16-25 shooting from the field, the Thunder opened up a big lead in the second quarter and didn’t look back in pulling out a 116-101 victory.
With the loss, the Lakers see their season ledger drop to 15 wins and 21 losses. The star-studded team was expected to be a serious contender at the start of the season but it now remains to be seen if they will even make the playoffs.
Mayweather had been spotted at his personal gym in Las Vegas getting in a few light workouts this past week, but with a May 4 fight still months away, he isn’t fully locked into camp mode just yet.
