You can add Floyd Mayweather to that list, and he’s putting his money where his mouth is. Mayweather, known as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world, visited Howard Stern on Wednesday and announced that he's betting $300,000 on the Aggies when they travel to Fayetteville to battle the Hogs on Saturday night at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
Manziel, the reigning Heisman Trophy award winner, has shown Mayweather enough since he made his college debut a season ago to give him confidence to shell out thousands of dollars in bets on the Texas A&M Aggies (3-1, 0-1 SEC). Mayweather posted a receipt on Twitter Sunday showing the wager he made in which he won $200,000. He bet that the Aggies would lead by 18 points or more at the end of the first half in last Saturday’s contest against the SMU Mustangs.
Mayweather felt so good after winning his bet last weekend that he’s decided to up the ante when the Aggies face the Hogs. And it's all because of Johnny Manziel.
“Johnny Football never has an off day,” Mayweather told Stern.
The Razorbacks can only hope that Manziel has an off day. If not, it will be a long night for the Razorback players, coaches, and fans. Meanwhile, Mayweather will be laughing all the way to the bank.
