FLOTUS Michelle Obama beats Ellen DeGeneres in push-up contest (VIDEO)

The times – they are a changin’!  Without checking history books, it’s safe to say that Michelle Obama is the first First Lady to ever be involved with a push-ups contest on national television – or perhaps anywhere.

FLOTUS Michelle Obama was on Ellen DeGeneres’ ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ when the conversation came around to physical strength.  Before long, the two were on the carpet on the studio's floor pumping away.

By the time the event ended, Mrs. Obama got to 25 while Ellen faltered at 20.  Ellen claimed she couldn’t beat the First Lady so she stopped, even though it looked like Ellen had had it by the twentieth push-up.  Ellen also pointed out that the First Lady is younger than her by a couple of years, as FLOTUS just turned 48 years old recently.

Michelle Obama is spending several days on the west coast to promote her ‘Let’s Move’ and ‘My Plate’ initiatives while taking some time to attend fundraisers for her husband’s reelection campaign and the Democratic Party.

Earlier in the week, Mrs. Obama was a guest on Jay Leno’s ‘Tonight Show.’  In that appearance, she delighted the audience with conversation about President Barack Obama’s singing as well as the singing talents – or lack, thereof – of GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.  The president sang a line of ‘Let’s Stay Together’ to a crowd attending a fundraiser in New York City’s Apollo Theater in the borough of Harlem a week ago while Mitt Romney sang an entire patriotic song on the campaign trail last weekend.  That wasn’t a competition – but if it were, President Obama would have won that competition.
