Floridians interested in learning about the possible risks of developing breast cancer due to the various toxic chemicals we are exposed to every day are invited to register for a free hour-long webinar on Tuesday, June 17th at 1 PM Eastern Standard Time. The webinar will be repeated on Wednesday June 18th at 6PM.

The online seminar, sponsored by Breast Cancer Action (BCAction), a national grassroots education and advocacy group working to end the breast cancer epidemic will feature Ruthann Rudel, Director of Research at The Silent Spring Institute and Megan R. Schwartzman, research scientist at the University of California Berkeley School of Public Health.

During the presentation these experts will discuss current knowledge based on the last two decades of research. They will also answer questions such as why so little research is being conducted today focusing on the potential links between exposure to chemicals known to be toxic and the development of breast cancer as well as why so little is being done to reduce the public’s exposure to these substances.

BCAction has hosted several webinars in the last few years related to this issue, hoping that as more people become informed about harmful chemicals, they will demand better approaches to identifying toxic chemicals and their potential links to disease - ultimately improving regulation.
