The 2013 NCAA football live stream and TV schedule on Saturday, Oct. 12 features a compelling matchup involving several of the top schools in the SEC and the Top 25 polls. The matchup could have potential BCS championship implications as well. It will be the Florida Gators visiting the LSU Tigers with the two schools both ranked in the top 20 overall. The latest live stream and televised NCAA football game will be presented via CBS Sports networks.
According to ESPN.com on Oct. 12, LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger currently ranks fourth overall in terms of passer ratings for NCAA college football with a 190.1. So far he's completed 68.8 percent of his passes thrown, and reportedly, is on track to take down single-season school records for both the passing yards and touchdowns category. His coach Les Miles said of Mettenberger:
"Zach is playing just like we need him to play at home or on the road. He is the leader. He is in charge of the communication. Zach is one of those guys on the field who gives you advantages not just with his arm, but with his mind."
Mettenberger will look to lead LSU to another victory today with receivers Odell Becham and Jarvis Landry currently ranking third and fourth in the SEC for receiving yards with a combined yards stat of just over 1,300 yards so far on the season. Running back Jeremy Hill has been averaging 118.8 yards per game and is second in the SEC for that stat. If they continue to utilize those key components, they should be able to defeat another ranked SEC opponent on Saturday.
Florida, currently at 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the SEC will look to their defense to try to stop this fast-paced LSU offensive attack on Saturday. They've managed to hold opponents to 12.2 points per game, which is good for fourth in the SEC, but they've yet to play a team like LSU. Previous opponents they've defeated include Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas which rank as the three worst offenses in the conference.
Complicating matters for Florida is the absence of star quarterback Jeff Driskel. Junior QB Tyler Murphy has filled in for him so far and hasn't had huge numbers, but hasn't needed them behind the defense. Murphy has completed 39-of-54 pass attempts for 530 yards and five touchdowns, with one interception, so far.
Odds makers are giving a relatively slight edge to the home team LSU here, with the spread set at about 7 or 7 1/2 points. The over/under number is set to 49 points for the game. Weather reports show partly sunny skies, with a kickoff temperature in the low 80's.
Saturday's Florida vs. LSU game has a start time of 3:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The game will be featured on national television via CBS for cable and satellite viewers. In addition, CBSSports.com will be live streaming this latest SEC matchup at their website. The live video feed appears to be free to view, as of this report.
