The Florida Strawberry Festival opened to an ideal day of blue skies, plenty of sunshine and moderate temperatures. The perfect atmosphere for being outdoors, riding rides, perusing exhibits, livestock shows, contests, enjoying musical performances and chowing down on fresh strawberries. It just doesn't get any better than that!
The annual festival held in Plant City, about a half hour's drive from Tampa, will run until March 10. Gates open at 10 am and the excitement continues until 10 pm, so there's plenty of time to get your tickets and have hours of fun.
Be dazzled by the sights, sounds and bright lights of the midway where every one of all ages can ride the rides, play games and see the many attractions. See the livestock exhibits and contests, the Kiddie Korral and the handy work at the Neighborhood Village where an array of handcrafted items will be on display.
Be sure to bring your appetite to the festival so you can savor the flavor of the many tasty morsels available like barbeque, giant corn dogs, waffle burgers, onion rings, cotton candy, treats and beverages, and the star of the festival, sweet, juicy Florida strawberries. Whether you choose a chunk of strawberry shortcake or a creamy strawberry milkshake, it will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth.
This year's festival has a mega list of headliner talent scheduled throughout the event. Hear some of the current top musical performers such as Bret Michaels, Blake Shelton, Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, Trace Adkins and Gloriana.
Take advantage of the many money-saving specials offered on select days such as Moonlight Magic Night, Ride-A-Thon, and Mountain Dew Family Day.
Whatever your pleasure when it comes to festivals, you'll find it at the Florida Strawberry Festival going strong since 1930. See you there!
